Chuck Moffit was raised by data processing trained gypsies. His youth was occupied by camping trips to visit the birthplaces of Presidents in the summer months. As those months them selves became history, he was clad in Toughskins jeans and dropped off at school (quite often in a different city than the one previously attended). Speaking fondly of his “formative years in western Nevada” he has landed in Mt Baldy, CA where he is currently building a new studio. He is attracted to the complex simplicity of the Panel Project. His pragmatic aesthetic can be reflected upon in his sculpture and becomes physically unmistakable when viewers chance an interaction with any of his handcrafted objects.
